Year 5 2020 - 2021
Design & Technology - Friday 20th November
The children were introduced to some Middle-Eastern cuisine today by making an Islamic vegetable stew and ginger & mint tea. The children also sampled houmous and pitta bread as well as an Islamic tumeric & semolina cake called 'Stoof' which is very popular in the Middle East. Great fun was had by all, both in preparation of the food and in tasting it! Please take a look at the photos in the gallery which you will find at the bottom of this page.
After painting these beautiful stones, Year 5 walked into Neston and placed them around the war memorial at St. Mary and St Helen’s Church. It was the children’s way of showing their respects and remembering the soldiers who have lost their lives fighting in wars.
Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their day of Halloween activities. They completed comprehension tasks, took part in a quiz, were creative when using apples to print pumpkin shapes, made milk carton ghosts....and even enjoyed pumpkin cakes made by Mrs Wilding. Please view our photos in the gallery section.
Welcome to a brand new year at
St. Winefride’s Primary School!
A warm welcome to everyone and what an exciting start we’ve had! I have been so impressed with how the boys and girls have returned to school. They have come back full of enthusiasm for their learning and with an added level of maturity both in their manner and the quality of their work. Well done everyone!
